B.R. Republican group forms
A new Republican group has formed in Baton Rouge to provide open access to residents who want to get involved in Republican politics, said Cullen Saucier, group chairman. The Pachyderms of Greater Baton Rouge will try to recruit more members at a 6:30 p.m. Wednesday meeting at the Jones Creek library. Saucier portrayed the Republican Party's Parish Executive Committee as closed. He pledged that the Pachyderms would be open to all comers. The Pachyderms dont plan to endorse candidates when Republicans are running against each other, but will back Republicans who are competing against Democrats for elected office, said Saucier, who is co-owner of Louisiana Office Supply.
